Santee
I was drawn to dentistry because of the relationships it allows me to build with patients and the opportunity to make an immediate difference—especially for those in pain. I’m passionate about patient-centered, efficient care and believe strongly in education, teamwork, and creating a positive experience at every visit. Outside the office, I enjoy San Diego’s outdoor lifestyle and spending time with my wife.
Why did you become a dentist?
My interest in healthcare started at a young age while shadowing my dad, who is a physician, in his gastroenterology clinic in Egypt. That experience sparked my love for caring for others. Later, during my undergraduate years, I shadowed a dentist in California, and that was the turning point for me. I saw how much time dentists get to spend with their patients and how strong those relationships can be. Dentistry allows for meaningful, hands-on care, teamwork, and real connection, which is what ultimately drew me to the profession.
Where did you go to dental school, and what did you like about your school’s program?
I attended Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. It was a great program that played a big role in shaping me as a clinician. I believe choosing a school that aligns with your goals is incredibly important, and Midwestern provided strong clinical training and opportunities for growth that prepared me well for practice.
What would you say is the highlight of your career so far?
The highlight of my career has been helping patients get out of pain, especially during emergency visits. Seeing someone come in uncomfortable or distressed and leave relieved and grateful is incredibly rewarding. Those moments really reinforce why I chose dentistry.
What would you say is your greatest challenge as a dentist?
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how dental insurance impacts patient care. It’s not something that’s emphasized much in dental school, but it plays a significant role in treatment planning. I’ve learned how important it is to educate patients, so they understand their coverage and feel confident making decisions about their care.

I love how patient-focused Dental Express is. We’re able to deliver care efficiently without making patients feel rushed. There’s a strong emphasis on the overall patient experience, and I really appreciate having the time to connect with patients and provide thoughtful, high-quality care.
How do you help cultivate the Dental Express team?
I try to support the team by listening, being flexible, and maintaining open communication. Creating a positive, collaborative environment helps everyone work better together, and that energy translates directly into better care for our patients.
Of Dental Express’s five core values—integrity, empathy, adaptability, collaboration, and Whistle While You Work—which do you feel you practice the most?
Whistle While You Work resonates with me the most. To me, it’s about humility, teamwork, and enjoying the work you do without ego. Showing up with a positive attitude and being a supportive team player creates a great environment for both patients and team members.
What are your passions outside of dentistry?
I love staying active and spending time outdoors. San Diego’s weather makes it easy to enjoy sports year-round. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, golfing, and surfing whenever I can.
Who is your hero?
My dad is my hero. He’s always supported me and paved the way for my success. Watching his dedication to his patients inspired my interest in healthcare and continues to motivate me today.
