What to Expect

Anesthesia isn’t required as this is a painless treatment; however, we’ll be happy to discuss sedation if you feel you need it. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll start applying the resin to your tooth. Using a special light, we’ll set the bonding material to prepare to add more layers. When we’ve finished adding layers of resin, we’ll contour it for a natural, even look.
Recovery
Recovery from bonding and contouring treatment is straightforward and pain-free. After your treatment, avoid coffee, tea, tobacco, and other staining substances for two days. Also, hard candy, pens, pencils, and fingernail biting can damage or ruin your bonding resin. So beware. The better you take care of your bonded teeth, the longer the restorative treatment will last. Brush and floss your bonded teeth as you would your natural teeth, and make sure to attend regular dental exams and cleanings. If you’re diligent enough with your at-home care, your bonding can last a decade.
