You could say Dr. Casey is the conductor of the Dental Express. After over a decade of practicing dentistry in the midwest, he brought his expertise to San Diego to fulfill his vision of creating an ethical, family-friendly, and patient-focused dental practice. When he’s not building beautiful smiles, he loves to play trivia with the family, golf with his 12-year-old son, and cook with his 8-year-old daughter. Dr. Casey also has a passion for aviation and has been a licensed pilot since college.
Dr. Marty is a local shining star at the Santee practice because of his passion for patient-centered dental care. In his free time, you can usually find Dr. Marty catching a few waves. In fact, “Surf is life” is his personal mantra, and he’s surfed just about every spot along the Pacific Coast Highway! Dr. Marty also loves serving his community and scouting for San Diego’s best tacos and donuts with his wife, Morgan, and baby boy, Arthur.
A veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Dr. Jamie spent almost ten years as a Sonar Technician in the Navy before pursuing his dentistry career. After multiple deployments aboard nuclear-powered submarines, he was honorably discharged and began his undergraduate schooling at San Diego State University. For his dental education, he attended one of the best dental schools in the nation, the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. This valuable experience, combined with the compassion he shows for his patients, translates to healthy and happy smiles for everyone lucky enough to sit in his dentist chair. When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Jamie loves to barbeque for his wife, his three sons, and all his friends. On his days off, chances are you’ll find him behind the grill cooking up something delicious!
Dr. Jay Scott Lopp’s passion for dentistry began as a 12-year-old boy. Having crooked teeth, Dr. Lopp needed braces. Little did he know that watching his teeth straighten over the course of a few years would drive his love for dentistry for the rest of his life. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City, Dr. Lopp came to San Diego to serve in the U.S.Navy as a Lieutenant in the Naval Dental Corps. After his active duty service at NAS Miramar, Dr.Lopp met and married his wife Carmen. Today, Dr. Lopp has over 30 years of experience as a dentist and is still happily married to Carmen. They have two beautiful daughters and they love spending time skiing, watching movies, and eating out as a family. Dr. Lopp is a family man and that’s why he fits so well into the Dental Express team. Getting to know patients, understanding their concerns, and helping them discover their ideal smile are just a few of the pleasures that motivate Dr. Lopp to love what he does every day at Dental Express. Dr. Michelle’s dentistry career has taken her from the West Coast to the East Coast and back again. After graduating from UCLA School of Dentistry, she moved to New York to work at a trauma center where she saw mostly emergency patients. Once she completed her residency, Dr. Michelle realized she missed being able to build relationships with her patients. So, she returned to the Golden State to focus on family dentistry. Dr. Michelle has a passion for treating kids and loves trading silly jokes with them at the office. When she’s not brightening smiles, she loves going hiking and biking on the winding trails around San Diego with her husband and friends.
Growing up in the bakery business, Dr. Davis had to take extra good care of his teeth. At a young age, he realized he loved working with his hands and he wanted to do something to give back to his community. Becoming a dentist made perfect sense. Dr. Davis could help people discover their ideal smile and work with his hands. Today, Dr. Davis loves working at Dental Express Point Loma where he gets to collaborate with his Dental Express family. He believes treating patients like family builds long-lasting relationships and gives patients the confidence to trust their dentist and receive the care they need. Outside the office, Dr. Davis is a foodie at heart and gives his time to the Dental Care For Children mission trips. He loves going to visit orphanages, churches and schools in Mexico to provide dental services to those in need. For Dr. Davis, giving is living.
Believe it or not, Dr. Rachel was afraid of going to the dentist when she was young. When she left for college, she was worried that she wouldn’t keep up with her regular dental appointments without her parents making her go. So, she became a dentist to conquer her fear! Dr. Rachel takes a problem-solving approach when creating treatment plans for her patients. She carefully addresses their dental needs and history to build the right plan for their ideal smile. When she’s not creating smiles, Dr. Rachel loves going to concerts and hiking. She’s also a talented painter, and she loves creating portraits of her friends’ pets as gifts.
Growing up in dentistry, Dr. Abigail found her passion for fostering healthy smiles at a young age. She was teased in middle school for having a gap, but going through the process of having braces renewed her sense of self-confidence and ignited her desire to become a dentist. As luck would have it, her aunt worked as a dentist in National City. Dr. Abigail seized the opportunity and started working as her aunt’s assistant. Eventually, she worked her way up to becoming the office manager. After completing dental school at Centro Escolar University in the Philippines, she actually became her aunt’s dentist! Now, Dr. Abigail loves putting smiles on her patients’ faces here at Dental Express. She believes in treating each of her patients like a close friend, and she thrives in the family atmosphere. Outside of dentistry, nothing can top Dr. Abigail’s passion for her dog. She loves taking her pup with her on fishing trips with her boyfriend, watching comedies and reality TV, trying new restaurants, and traveling around the world.
