I rarely go to the dentist here in the states, came across this dentist office in santee with great reviews, took a shot and so happy I found this place.
Dr. Jerry went above and beyond to try to help me out on a bad crown I needed replaced, he really did a awesome job , also Mara excellent assistant , treated me so well , and can’t forget Rebecca she did my deep cleaning, she explained to me step by step and really took her time to Make me feel comfortable! I’ve been a patient of the Dental Express in Downtown San Diego for a couple years now. The staff and doctors have always been very friendly and I’ve received exceptional care.

I had a great experience. Booking was easy, they accommodated me and my bad back, the dentist and all the staff were kind and approachable and I feel they did a great job with the cleaning.

The only downside is the chairs in the waiting room.

I first came to Dental Express a couple years back, but my son who has ADHD and mild autism wasn't able to complete his appointment last time due to the fact that he was overwhelmed by having things in his mouth and couldn't finish X -rays so they didn't bother to clean his teeth.

Great experience, made me feel very comfortable

I’m absolutely impressed at the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff members. Dr. Alshawi, and her wonderful assistants made me feel very comfortable. I’ve never encountered anything close to this dental experience. No one loves going to one, but they ensured I was ok throughout. My doctor pushed through what had been initially unapproved by Denti-Cal. What was to be a re-exam was fully approved during the visit. All the work completed, except for the appt to get my permanent crowns. My insurance was ending, and she got it done in time. A root canal, and 3 crowns! Mostly, their empathy when I told them my brother just died. I was fighting back tears while I clung onto the arms of the chair, as most of us do, in spite of not feeling the procedure. State-of-the-art equipment. Impeccably clean. The train theme is a nice plus, as well as their beautiful pottery. It’s museum-like…a nice distraction to the work at hand. I’m so grateful! It took months to find a reputable dental facility that could perform all the work in one place, especially with a rare blood cancer leaving me fearful in just anyone perform it. Please read their mission statement on their site. Owner, Dr. Casey has a history of family dentistry. He cares, and helps the less-fortunate populations by accepting Medi-Cal. I just had an implant done by Dr. Jaime and I can tell you it was an awesome experience , Dr. Jaime has outstanding bedside manners that puts you at ease and his work is impecable , I wish I could give him more stars . My experience in the Escondido office has been great , from the staff at the front desk , Dr. Michele who also is outstaning ,the assistants , Nicky that did a terrific cleaning , all in all this is the best office in the County , maybe the State , I drive one hour to get there and would not consider going anyplace else.

I followed her from the Clairemont location and I am so grateful to her for being an above and beyond doctor with her patients who also advocates for them. I had an amazing first experience at Dental Express Clairemont! From start to finish, everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. Dr. Valerie Le Murphy was wonderful — she made me feel comfortable and explained everything clearly. Arturo, who did my cleaning, was gentle, thorough, and super friendly. Honestly, it was one of the best cleanings I’ve ever had.

I know there may be some mixed reviews out there, but everyone’s experience is different.

Personally, I felt genuinely cared for and well taken care of. I highly recommend this office if you’re looking for a dental team that truly goes above and beyond!

I haven’t been to the dentist in 15 years. I was super nervous. Narius (sp) was the first person that cared for me and he put me at ease with his kindness and sense of humor. Dr Jamie did an over all evaluation of my dental needs and was kind and gentle. The hygienist was very sweet and hummed happily as she cleaned my teeth. My future needs were explained to me clearly with the costs explained up front. I go back in 2 weeks to continue my dental journey and I feel certain that I will be well cared for. Narius (sp) playfully gave me a sticker for being a good girl! 😁

Dr. Le Murphy has been amazing to me and my teeth. She has shown exceptional professionalism in all her dental work. The crown she placed a year ago feels just like a natural tooth. Recently, she extracted a tooth so smoothly that there was hardly any bleeding, and my recovery was excellent within a week.
Dr. Kaisy placed another crown about a year ago, and it has been working perfectly. Dr. Connor cleaned the buildup from my teeth so efficiently that they look brand new again.

This clinic truly respects its patients and delivers outstanding care with professionalism and kindness.

Dr Murphy turned what cuold have terrible situation turned it around and I came out with flying colors. I lost my blood clot from a tooth extraction and thank goodness on the third try we got the blood clot the hole and the tooth is fully healed and I can go back to work, which is Diving. It was my fault for the perforated sinus. I blew my nose and blew the blood clot right out of my nose Dr. Murphy was very patient and worked with me so we got the blood clot to hold and then to heal hundred percent healed now Arturo very courteous. And professional just clean my teeth and did a great job. Feel good extremely happy with Dental Express. Thank you….. CH

My husband went in for a tooth ache. Which needed to be extracted since it was too late to save. What we really liked was that the doctor took the time to show us and explain what was causing the pain and why it couldnt be saved. Not only that the dental assistant took her time to explain the after care and follow up appointments and well as reaching out to the authorization department so we can push for other treatment that needs to be done before it becomes to late. As first time patients we love this office and will definitely recommend to others.

I’ve struggled with post-traumatic stress related to dentists since I had a procedure without anesthesia when I was a little girl! Despite my cries and pain, they held me down in the chair until it was finished. After that, every visit to the dentist became a traumatic experience for me. With the help of therapy, I decided to face my fear of the dentist again and found this amazing place in Escondido. I can’t even explain how incredible Dr. Jamie is. He’s not only a highly skilled professional but also an amazing person. He’s always so kind and ensures that I feel no pain during any procedure—and I’ve had several done so far. The staff here is also outstanding; everyone is incredibly friendly and attentive. I couldn’t be happier to have found this place after everything I’ve been through. Highly recommended!!!!

I have been coming to Dental Express for many years now, based on a referral from a friend. Their offices are beautiful, large and airy with a train theme that features a train running near the ceiling throughout the offices. Cute! I have found the admin staff to always be pleasant and efficient and I almost never have to wait. They did a beautiful job on some dentures for me, so I have referred at least 3 friends for the same. They were also pleased with the results and timeliness of getting the job done. They take most insurance including Medi-Cal, so don't put off going to see them! Your smile will change your life!

So I’ve been to this location many times for my wife and children. And all of them have had great experiences without any complaints. I have also had some experience with Dr. Marty and I’ll have to say, I’ll never go anywhere else!

11-7-24 My experiences have been under unreal amounts of tooth pain and anxiety attacks. But not only did Dr. Marty take the pain from a 10 to a “0”, he also made me feel extremely calm and that my anxiety was normal. He gave me the meds to take an hour before I came back, and he got this aggravated root canal taken care off in about a half an hour. Pain free days are ahead so thank you Doc. A+

Leaving this review for my husband! I just want to say thank you & show our gratitude to all the staff here at DE downtown. The staff is amazing from walking in to checking in, always courteous and great customer service! Dr Jen has been so wonderful helping my husband with all his dental work, when he first arrived he was in so much pain, he’s been pain free for months!!! Just wanted to say thank you so much, the switch from Point Loma to downtown has been phenomenal we were a little skeptic at first due to location but the difference is uncanny! We will never leave downtown location! Thank you to all the staff

The dentists at this office are great . However the staff here has attitude and I once had an issue with them over billing me . I am the one who caught the error and when I tried to explain to them I was not paying it became almost an argument. After calling my insurance I had to prove they made a mistake . Close to a year later the issue was fixed . I figured I’ll let that error go and not hold a drudge against the office errors happen.

Today I was driving by the office and I decided to stop and book a cleaning in person . I was told they did. It have any on a Tuesday or it was way out and that I should call the office on the phone . I was like I am here now to make an appointment? I walked out and I am going to another dentist.

The office called me and they fixed the issue , so I am 100% satisfied . They were extremely polite and Koriana went out of her way to make things right . I also may have acted rude to them which was bad thing.. I apologized and we are both happy now

Today was my Deep Cleaning visit with Dental Express. Because I suffer from extreme anxiety, I almost did not want to go because of the numbing chemicals used, but I am glad I went ahead with the visit and ride off my anxiety. Well, I survived the fear of medicine going into my body all because of how informative SAUL was and how calm and collected he was during the entire procedure. He is a great conversationalist and he makes you feel at ease and pain free. Can't wait for my next visit with Dental Express staff.

Dr. Davis is one of the best dentist I have ever seen. I have years of seeing different dentist for different procedures and because of him I am able to smile with confidence again and my ACTUAL oral health has greatly improved and still improving. Dr. Davis repaired multiple crowns after a different dental practice performed faulty crown deliveries. Yes having a great smile is important but having exceptional oral health as a direct result of the proper treatment by a dentist far exceeds all else. The office staff is good and by good I mean they know what they are doing, all you have to do is ask for what you need and they will accommodate. This comes as a beautiful surprise with a hectic work schedule, meetings, kids…. Life. Thank you Dr. Davis, I truly am grateful and you’re an amazing dentist.

I had been going to the community clinic for my dental work as I did not have any kind of insurance, but I stopped going there due to some horrible experiences during the 9 visits in a single year!
For that very reason I avoided the dentist for a year and a half. I chose Dental Express over Western Dental and so far, I have been completely satisfied.
I chose the Escondido location as well as the dentist of my choosing. Their website is very useful and has bios on all the dentists. I am a military Veteran so naturally I picked Dr. Jaime Ferguson as he also is a Veteran {Navy 10 yrs.}
The ENTIRE staff was kind and showed me more compassion than I expected {they even greet you by name as soon as you walk through the door!!} and the office manager even convinced me to stay and give it a try as I had already made up my mind that I was going to leave because I thought I needed complete sedation to have 7 cavities filled. Turns out it was the correct decision. Tomorow I will be having an exam for 2 crowns. I love this place!!!

Today I went to Dental express to have a crown build up. Frankie the assistant was fabulous. He explained everything he was doing. He worked great with the dentist. I was very impressed with his knowledge and Skills. I own a small Business in Santee and will be referring to This Dentist. Great job.

Deandra, Andrea, Claudia, Dr. Ashmore, and Dr. Davis Do are amazing. They kept me relaxed and comforted. I’ve been going here nearly ten years. Very grateful for this clinic and the entire staff.

I will miss everyone at Dental Express in Santee. I have to move to Oceanside. Dr. Jerry my dentist is great. It is like not even getting anything done as you don't feel anything and he is fast and does excellent work. I never had crowns before and knew nothing about them but it was a ease with Dr. Jerry. I will add that I am a nervous person and they could ease my mind about anything that was done to my teeth.

The office staff is wonderful and Karina is a sweetheart. They have done so much for me and I will never forget them. I am new to a big city like San Diego. They are very welcoming and I feel tears coming now.

update: 08/28/24: gave it a year and decided to give Dental express another try and brought my 6 year old in to get a cleaning. All New staff from my last visit. From the front desk girlies to the dental assistant, to the Dentist.... all a outstanding "5" great experience! the Dental Hygienist...well....we'll try to make her smile the next time.

I love this place... the office staff and the Hygienist are the best....Unfortunately will not be coming back anytime soon...the dentist have changed and my experience is no longer worth the 5 star I had provided previously. I was given a wrong diagnosis... before getting that surprising root canal...get a second opinion. I was previously a dental assistant.. I am aware of what to look for yet to the inexperienced...stay alert and ask questions.

Dr Marty is by far the best dentist ive ever seen. My very anxious kiddo was able to sit through the whole appointment thanks to his bedside manner. He was so awesome and very informative and also extremely helpful and kind!!! His assistant Brittany was also super nice!!

Dental Express was so Phenomenal. They took me in at the last minute they had an open availability. The receptionist Alma was patient with me and provided great customer service. The Hygienist Chris OMG! He was over the TOP! He provided great service that made me wanted to cry. He was warming with his customer service. If you want to have the best dentist in East County, I highly recommend chosing Dental express in Santee. Dr. Marty was GREAT. I'm losing my insurance at the end of the month. Dr.Marty was able to get me in and get all of the work done quick. He was so gentle. I didn't even hardly feel getting numb. My teeth look great. I am on my way to the beautiful smile I have always dreamed of. Words can not express the gratitude I have for Dr. Marty and his team.

They always take care of me and make me feel comfortable at Dental Express. I'm prone to dental problems in pregnancy and ive never hesitated to see them. Dr. Jamie was fantastic and was thorough after a bad infection, will be going to him for future needs.

All of the staff at Dental Express in Point Loma are awesome.... however a HUGE shout out to Dr. Park, Mr. Allen, Ms. Rochelle and Ms. Brianna. These four individuals were courteous, kind, efficient and above all AMAZING! I am so very glad I have found an outstanding dentist!

Normally, I dread the x-rays because of the awful plastic plates they put to take the picture anyways it was absolutely awesome! thank you Kim . Also, you made it very fine and enjoyable along with Dr. Parks. I cannot wait to return in the future.

I came into Dental Express this morning to get a partial because I haven’t been able to smile in years. Dr. Jamie and the friendly hygienists went above and beyond to make me comfortable. They were fast and courteous and had a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. I was told within a few months, I would have partials, so I would be able to smile again. I am very excited. Just had a 19 teeth extraction followed by dentures and i am amazed at how well it went. The procedure was quick and with the help of just one pill I felt no pain! It did get painful after a few days and I was able to be seen without an appointment and a short waiting period. Every time the staff has been really nice and welcoming, caring and very professional. Both dentist are great! Highly recommend this place.

My parents have been patients of Dental Express downtown for several years. The office staff are always accommdating and provide good service. Most recently, Dr. Jennifer placed a crown for my father and he is very happy with the results.

I had the best time at the clinic today! Kim, my favorite hygienist, was so gentle with my teeth during my cleaning. Her assistant, Yousif, was amazing too! He explained everything in detail and the X-rays were a breeze. If you're ever in need of a cleaning, I highly suggest seeing Kim. She is such a sweetheart and you'll leave with a smile on your face!

It’s great dental clinic. The staff very polite and professional. Dr. Casey did my tooth root canal within 10-12 minutes. It was pretty fast and painless. A special gratitude to Paula, she is the best dental assistant I have ever had. Makes me laugh every time I visit this clinic. Overall, very satisfied with their service and professionalism.

Staff is nice and friendly!

Usually love this place. Dr. Casey, Dr. Jaime (no longer at Pt. Loma) and Dr. David are great. Unfortunately, I had the experience of seeing Dr. Lucy for the first time. After reviewing my x-rays, she stuck her instrument in my mouth and started barking numbers to the dental assistant. I am 58 and have had 2 cavities in my life. A cavity from my childhood eventually resulted in a root canal and a crown but that's it! So now Dr. Lucy proceeds to tell me that I have 5 cavities. I am shocked and upset to say the least, which I said to her. Since my last appt. 6 months ago I now have 5 cavities? No, my diet has not changed to just sugar! She kept sticking her instrument in my tooth while I was looking in a mirror to try and see what she was talking about. I couldn't, so now she mentions additional x-rays so I can see. She also mentions my 2 crowns. I correct her and tell her I have 1 crown. I don't think she liked that I corrected her but she looked again and realized there is just 1 crown. She tells me 4 of the cavities need to be taken care of the sooner the better and asks if I had questions. Well yes, I have tons of questions but her complete lack of "bedside manner" made me just want her out of the room. The lovey hygienist (sorry, forgot her name) cleaned my teeth and helped calm me down. I declined the additional x-rays because doubt insurance covers those. The hygienist made my next appt. and noted that I'd like to see Dr. David who I've seen before and I believe we have discussed this demineralization which could potentially turn into a cavity. I've never had pain and I think we're just keeping an eye on things. I realize at 58 your enamel starts to deteriorate but what preventative measures can we take and does "take care of" mean drilling and filling 4 teeth ('cause you know insurance only covers a portion of that)? Dr. Lucy and her "you have this, you need to do that, blah, blah, blah" just made me see dollar signs. All the other dentists I've seen were very personable and complementary on the state of my teeth at my age. Again, love this place and love the staff but Dr. Lucy was the exception. Kindness matters!

Great Dental practice ! I had the pleasure of working with Rakenya , the team and Dentist to get everything started. I have been putting my teeth off for a while but decided it was finally time. They started with the exam and cleaning to get an idea of what we are working with but what stood out to me vs other practices is how they broke everything down beautifully and understandable. I have so far had a cleaning and multiple fillings done and the quality of work is just impeccable ! Highly recommend !!!

I have been to many dentists as I have sensitive teeth and gums and need highly attuned care. You'd be surprised how many unprofessional people are practicing with a license. When you find a real dentist, it's like winning the lottery these days. After an emergency root canal, care from bruxism/stress fracture and a bad dental experience during the pandemic, I am in greatly improved health due to Dr. Jay Lopp. I really can't thank him enough and his wonderful staff, front admin and hygienists, real people with real results, you guys rock!

I would highly recommend this dentist office because they were very kind and they have an impeccable staff service. Daisy and Dr.Lopp were very nice and incredibly helpful. Daisy gave details about everything that was going on and was super communicative with me throughout the whole teeth cleaning process! Everyone in the office was very patient and had good way of communicating with people.

If I can add 5 more stars , I would do it right away. They are well Trained professional with amazing humble integrity and very welcoming and comforting. I've work in the field , but seeing how they operate in a very sufficient way was amazing.. as the patient they provided me with an amazing quality service especially the dentist. Honest and intellectual have an amazing conches .. the treatment was a breeze, no pain no gain right. Oh and they give out cute shirts which I wore today and spread the love and bought there amazing whitening in home system kit. The results is outstanding. They accept everyone and warm hearted, regardless if you are a drunk mess coming from an event or some rave happening. Very nice to teenagers!!!! Teenage girls are a challenge sometimes especially when you’ve done everything to have them be nice and polite to it. They still learn “snobbish” behavior..... those that have daughters understand. I nip that in the butt when I see it.

I hadn't been to a dentist in 7 years, but when I walked into the Point Loma office I was immediately put at ease. The office is friendly and professional. I'm going back next week for a cleaning and discussion on a crown. The office is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and a short walk from my home. I'm actually looking forward to my next appointment and will have more to say next week.

I've gone a few times this month because I needed quite a bit of work done, I haven't been to the dentist in at least 6 years. Dr. Marty was very friendly and explained everything and made sure I was comfortable and not in pain. The nurses were also very nice, and the desk staff as well. I will keep going to this dentist, and I recommend them. They also worked on my 6 year olds teeth and treated her very well, they kept her comfortable, and had patience with her. They are also very fast, the few times that I've gone I've been out in about an hour. Highly recommend.

As a first time client, I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Marty. He made sure to explain in depth the services he would provide for me and is seeking out a treatment plan specifically for me.

Def a nice dental office which was refreshing compared to the last office I visited... The man up front was super friendly and helpful, HOWEVER when I visited there it was a dental emergency and I was in a lot of pain... So my issue is this... I need a root canal on a tooth in the back of my mouth, the tooth is pretty much gone already. The young lady dentist came in and knowing Im on state insurance, instead of recommending the extraction of the tooth which is covered 100% by my ins. And would also take me out of pain. What does she do? Pretends to be concerned with saving my non existent tooth and the crown requires a 900$ co pay... And no thank you on the ibuprofen, been eating enough of those lately... So all in all its a very nice dental office and the guy up front was straight forward with me so after waiting in pain I got antibiotics and an appt to extract... Some dentists need to understand the pain and the overall goal for the patient. Got a free t shirt and loved the train!
