Dental Express Point Loma is the best! From Whitney at the front desk, to Paola, the Dental Assistant, and finally Dr. Baker, I was made to feel 100% comfortable and unashamed of the condition my mouth is in. I needed an immediate extraction, and the next day I was able to get through the day with only one pain killer. Dental work is never easy, but they are top-notch!

Despite the name Dentle Express is not a cracker jack hurry dentist it is a dentist that has a toy train with cartoon action figures that serve as easter eggs to find which makes the lobby entertaining.
I highly recommend this dentist. The office staff is great I do suggest to show up at the office or as a walk in because the office is only open 4 days a week and they are to busy to answer phones: you as a customer ned to plan around this.

Found this place and came JUST for an emergency extraction, but they were so great, they ended up examining me and told me all the work I needed, and after insurance approval, they started their lovely work! I unfortunately had to have some root canals, but the dentist and hygienist didn’t rush and took their time to do the procedure correctly. They did such a good job I had absolutely no pain or soreness whatsoever which is rare for me! Due to old fillings falling out and getting cavities in hard to floss areas, I had some cosmetic work that needed to be done as well! I’m currently in the process of finishing everything up and I’m so excited and greatful I found these wonderful people. If you need any type of work done, from something minor such as a cleaning, to something major such as extractions or root canals, I HIGHLY recommend getting seen at this location!! They will not only help you to get insurance approval but they’ll also provide full transparency on what you need and what the cost will be if insurance doesn’t cover it. I had an amazing experience at Express Dental Point Loma. From the front desk team to hygienist and Dr.. Every staff member was very friendly and kind. I came in as a walk in and was seen almost immediately, it felt like I had gone to the dentist my entire life by the way I was treated. I got full examination, cleaning and two cavities filled all within 2 hours. I can’t wait for my next visit and looking forward to seeing all of the lovely people that work there again! Today was one of the best dental visits I’ve ever had. Coming from Western Dental, the difference is literally night and day.

The hygienist did my cleaning so gently that, for the first time, I didn’t feel pain during the process. The doctor was professional, thorough, and very informative, which gave me complete confidence in the care I received.

And I have to mention Liz at the front desk — she is such a sweetheart! She was welcoming, kind, and professional, which set the tone for the whole visit.

AMAZING service! I am visiting from out of town with cavity pain. Not being able to be seen back at home for quite some time, I was truly worried the issues and pain would only escalate. Thankfully Dental Express took care of me!

I hadn’t been to the dentist in years because of my high dental anxiety and embarrassment over how bad my teeth had gotten. I was in constant pain and afraid they were beyond repair. Before making my appointment with Dental Express, I had scheduled two other dentist visits elsewhere, but always found a reason to cancel.

The day before my appointment at Dental Express, I was already thinking of excuses not to go. That same day, I got a call from Cathy, the receptionist, to ask a few questions about my insurance. She was so reassuring and easy to talk to. I told her about my dental problems, my fear of dentists, and how embarrassed I felt about my teeth. Cathy told me I had nothing to worry about and that the staff was gentle, caring, and non-judgmental. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Cathy’s call, I probably wouldn’t have shown up.

When I arrived, I was greeted by the kindest dental assistant, who took X-rays and prepared me for Dr. Alshawi. Dr. Alshawi is absolutely amazing! She explained the procedures I needed, reassured me I was in good hands, and was incredibly gentle. She took her time explaining what she was doing and made sure I wasn’t in any pain.

If you are scared of the dentist or embarrassed about your teeth, I highly recommend Dental Express and Dr. Alshawi. You won’t regret it!

Mohammad was my hygenist and he was very funny and caring!! Polished my teeth very well and made sure nothing hurt. Dr. Sara was my doctor and she was very sweet with testing my nerves and reassuring me stuff I was afraid of. And Jennifer did my x rays and was very gentle and made sure nothing hurt! Her direction was amazing. Overall very good place with very good service.

Always a better than expected experience. Kind front desk and staff too. Dr. Jen helped me with extracting a swollen tooth that kept me up for days in excruciating pain. I was expecting to have to get sent to another office but they were able to get the broken tooth out no problem. Big shout out to the assistant I forgot her name who helped calm me down too. My wife was treated recently by Dr. Ferguson and his assistant Erika. An amazing experience, unlike any other she ever had! Both the Dr. and Erika were caring, thorough, and very efficient, as we're all the other staff we met. The Dental Express model is what every dentist office should emulate: stste of the art equipment, thoughtfulness, and best of all no pain!

After many degrading, unprofessional experiences elsewhere, we have been extremely grateful for the team and dentists here. Everyone has been kind, thorough, and accommodating. Even when dealing with dental emergencies, they have made sure to get us in quickly and always have a positive "we can fix it" attitude. Dr. Michelle is incredibly understanding and has a gentle hand, but does stellar work. We are very grateful to have them.

Both my experiences have been great! I had to change dentists after my old office dropped my insurance and was referred here. Needed 2 cavities and a deep cleaning and after insurance my out of pocket was less then $500 - which was nearly $1500 cheaper then the quote I got from another office for the same work.

I’ve been a patient of the Dental Express in Downtown San Diego for a couple years now. The staff and doctors have always been very friendly and I’ve received exceptional care.

I had a great experience. Booking was easy, they accommodated me and my bad back, the dentist and all the staff were kind and approachable and I feel they did a great job with the cleaning.

The only downside is the chairs in the waiting room.

I first came to Dental Express a couple years back, but my son who has ADHD and mild autism wasn't able to complete his appointment last time due to the fact that he was overwhelmed by having things in his mouth and couldn't finish X -rays so they didn't bother to clean his teeth.

I’m absolutely impressed at the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff members. Dr. Alshawi, and her wonderful assistants made me feel very comfortable. I’ve never encountered anything close to this dental experience. No one loves going to one, but they ensured I was ok throughout. My doctor pushed through what had been initially unapproved by Denti-Cal. What was to be a re-exam was fully approved during the visit. All the work completed, except for the appt to get my permanent crowns. My insurance was ending, and she got it done in time. A root canal, and 3 crowns! Mostly, their empathy when I told them my brother just died. I was fighting back tears while I clung onto the arms of the chair, as most of us do, in spite of not feeling the procedure. State-of-the-art equipment. Impeccably clean. The train theme is a nice plus, as well as their beautiful pottery. It’s museum-like…a nice distraction to the work at hand. I’m so grateful! It took months to find a reputable dental facility that could perform all the work in one place, especially with a rare blood cancer leaving me fearful in just anyone perform it. Please read their mission statement on their site. Owner, Dr. Casey has a history of family dentistry. He cares, and helps the less-fortunate populations by accepting Medi-Cal. It is reflected in all his staff members. So refreshing! I highly recommend The Dental Express who have several locations. Debbie

I just had an implant done by Dr. Jaime and I can tell you it was an awesome experience , Dr. Jaime has outstanding bedside manners that puts you at ease and his work is impecable , I wish I could give him more stars . My experience in the Escondido office has been great , from the staff at the front desk , Dr. Michele who also is outstaning ,the assistants , Nicky that did a terrific cleaning , all in all this is the best office in the County , maybe the State , I drive one hour to get there and would not consider going anyplace else.

I had an amazing first experience at Dental Express Clairemont! From start to finish, everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. Dr. Valerie Le Murphy was wonderful — she made me feel comfortable and explained everything clearly. Arturo, who did my cleaning, was gentle, thorough, and super friendly. Honestly, it was one of the best cleanings I’ve ever had.

I know there may be some mixed reviews out there, but everyone’s experience is different.

Personally, I felt genuinely cared for and well taken care of. I highly recommend this office if you’re looking for a dental team that truly goes above and beyond!

I haven’t been to the dentist in 15 years. I was super nervous. Narius (sp) was the first person that cared for me and he put me at ease with his kindness and sense of humor. Dr Jamie did an over all evaluation of my dental needs and was kind and gentle. The hygienist was very sweet and hummed happily as she cleaned my teeth. My future needs were explained to me clearly with the costs explained up front. I go back in 2 weeks to continue my dental journey and I feel certain that I will be well cared for. Narius (sp) playfully gave me a sticker for being a good girl! 😁

This place is awesome! I had a bad experience with a dentist when I was very young. Since then, I had an overwhelming fear of ever going back. This allowed for me having alot of dental problems over the years. Cavities, tooth loss and lots of pain! I finally could not take it anymore. My friend told me about Dental express. Dr. Jamie is amazing. Professional, easy to communicate with (he listens and tells it to you straight). I, like most people am not fond of trips to the dentist. Any dentist, but Dental Express and their friendly attentive staff and of course Dr. Jamie made sure I was comfortable at all times and I came away with a beautiful smile. I’ve struggled with post-traumatic stress related to dentists since I had a procedure without anesthesia when I was a little girl! Despite my cries and pain, they held me down in the chair until it was finished. After that, every visit to the dentist became a traumatic experience for me. With the help of therapy, I decided to face my fear of the dentist again and found this amazing place in Escondido. I can’t even explain how incredible Dr. Jamie is. He’s not only a highly skilled professional but also an amazing person. He’s always so kind and ensures that I feel no pain during any procedure—and I’ve had several done so far. The staff here is also outstanding; everyone is incredibly friendly and attentive. I couldn’t be happier to have found this place after everything I’ve been through. Highly recommended!!!!

I have always been afraid of going to the dentist , probably bcz of judgement, I have messed up back teeth and had a yellow front tooth and I was tired of not being able to smile so I booked an appointment and let me tell you they are all amazing especially Dr.Mays, She’s the best in this world she’s gentle , kind and knows her stuff! The staff is amazing from walking in to checking in, always courteous and great customer service! Today was my Deep Cleaning visit with Dental Express. Because I suffer from extreme anxiety, I almost did not want to go because of the numbing chemicals used, but I am glad I went ahead with the visit and ride off my anxiety. Well, I survived the fear of medicine going into my body all because of how informative SAUL was and how calm and collected he was during the entire procedure. He is a great conversationalist and he makes you feel at ease and pain free. Can't wait for my next visit with Dental Express staff.

Dr. Davis is one of the best dentist I have ever seen. I have years of seeing different dentist for different procedures and because of him I am able to smile with confidence again and my ACTUAL oral health has greatly improved and still improving. Dr. Davis repaired multiple crowns after a different dental practice performed faulty crown deliveries. Yes having a great smile is important but having exceptional oral health as a direct result of the proper treatment by a dentist far exceeds all else. The office staff is good and by good I mean they know what they are doing, all you have to do is ask for what you need and they will accommodate. This comes as a beautiful surprise with a hectic work schedule, meetings, kids…. Life. Thank you Dr. Davis, I truly am grateful and you’re an amazing dentist.

I had been going to the community clinic for my dental work as I did not have any kind of insurance, but I stopped going there due to some horrible experiences during the 9 visits in a single year!
For that very reason I avoided the dentist for a year and a half. I chose Dental Express over Western Dental and so far, I have been completely satisfied.
I chose the Escondido location as well as the dentist of my choosing. Their website is very useful and has bios on all the dentists. I am a military Veteran so naturally I picked Dr. Jaime Ferguson as he also is a Veteran {Navy 10 yrs.}
The ENTIRE staff was kind and showed me more compassion than I expected {they even greet you by name as soon as you walk through the door!!} and the office manager even convinced me to stay and give it a try as I had already made up my mind that I was going to leave because I thought I needed complete sedation to have 7 cavities filled. Turns out it was the correct decision. Tomorow I will be having an exam for 2 crowns. I love this place!!!

My parents have been patients of Dental Express downtown for several years. The office staff are always accommdating and provide good service. Most recently, Dr. Jennifer placed a crown for my father and he is very happy with the results.

It’s great dental clinic. The staff very polite and professional. Dr. Casey did my tooth root canal within 10-12 minutes. It was pretty fast and painless. A special gratitude to Paula, she is the best dental assistant I have ever had. Makes me laugh every time I visit this clinic. Overall, very satisfied with their service and professionalism.

Great Dental practice ! I had the pleasure of working with Rakenya , the team and Dentist to get everything started. I have been putting my teeth off for a while but decided it was finally time. They started with the exam and cleaning to get an idea of what we are working with but what stood out to me vs other practices is how they broke everything down beautifully and understandable. I have so far had a cleaning and multiple fillings done and the quality of work is just impeccable ! Highly recommend !!!

I have been to many dentists as I have sensitive teeth and gums and need highly attuned care. You'd be surprised how many unprofessional people are practicing with a license. When you find a real dentist, it's like winning the lottery these days. After an emergency root canal, care from bruxism/stress fracture and a bad dental experience during the pandemic, I am in greatly improved health due to Dr. Jay Lopp. I really can't thank him enough and his wonderful staff, front admin and hygienists, real people with real results, you guys rock!

Very nice to teenagers!!!! Teenage girls are a challenge sometimes especially when you’ve done everything to have them be nice and polite to it. They still learn “snobbish” behavior..... those that have daughters understand. I nip that in the butt when I see it.

I'm going back next week for a cleaning and discussion on a crown. The office is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and a short walk from my home. I've gone a few times this month because I needed quite a bit of work done, I haven't been to the dentist in at least 6 years. Dr. Marty was very friendly and explained everything and made sure I was comfortable and not in pain. The nurses were also very nice, and the desk staff as well. I will keep going to this dentist, and I recommend them. They also worked on my 6 year olds teeth and treated her very well, they kept her comfortable, and had patience with her. They are also very fast, the few times that I've gone I've been out in about an hour. Highly recommend.

As a first time client, I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Marty. He made sure to explain in depth the services he would provide for me and is seeking out a treatment plan specifically for me.

Def a nice dental office which was refreshing compared to the last office I visited... The man up front was super friendly and helpful, HOWEVER when I visited there it was a dental emergency and I was in a lot of pain... So my issue is this... I need a root canal on a tooth in the back of my mouth, the tooth is pretty much gone already. The young lady dentist came in and knowing Im on state insurance, instead of recommending the extraction of the tooth which is covered 100% by my ins. And would also take me out of pain. What does she do? Pretends to be concerned with saving my non existent tooth and the crown requires a 900$ co pay... And no thank you on the ibuprofen, been eating enough of those lately... So all in all its a very nice dental office and the guy up front was straight forward with me so after waiting in pain I got antibiotics and an appt to extract... Some dentists need to understand the pain and the overall goal for the patient. Got a free t shirt and loved the train!
